El Castillo is a custom designed home located in an executive gated community. The home is beautifully furnished, has a private pool and spa, an expansive viewing deck - great for enjoying the most perfect sunsets.

Each bedroom has his own private bathroom and a  private balcony offering  panoramic views of the Golfo de Papagayo.

There are 4 bedrooms...the master bedroom has a king bed and the three other bedrooms have two double beds.  All bedrooms have panoramic ocean view. The house sleeps 14 guests maximum. The entire house has central air conditioning! There are two large stairs in natural wood to reach the bedrooms on the second floor. High ceiling with native hard wood and high velocity ceiling fans keep this area cool and comfortable.  

What's There to Do?
There are lots of options.  Conditions are ideal for boating, sailing, fishing, swimming, snorkeling and beach combing - or hiking, biking, birding and exploring - or, if you prefer, simply reading or relaxing.

The ocean beaches, protected by an extensive offshore reef, are among the finest anywhere. It's a world of sparkling blue water, with privacy and tranquility, a place people return to year after year for relaxation and renewal.

Playa Hermosa is prized by all the Travel Guides. 1 mile from the beach, and 10 minutes drive from many  shops and restaurants. With good paved roads you can reach many of the best national parks in Costa Rica with in one hour and a half drive.

Hacienda del Pacifico is a newly built custom house in the Bay of Tamarindo located on the pacific coast of Costa Rica

The Hacienda is located at the far south end of the bay and is only a walk of one minute to the beach as the path to the beach is directly opposite the
front door. There are rock pools and excellent swimming directly in front of the beach area.

The Hacienda has been built with 'old style charm" but with the modern conveniences needed for a comfortable vacation.

The main focus of the house is the large "walk gallery' connecting all the areas together. The kitchen is open plan and has a bar area. The living room is also open plan and has room for sitting and a desk area.

The house has three bedrooms, two bedrooms have queen sized bed and the third has two single beds. All the bedrooms have air conditioning.

A small swimming pool is on the terrace area outside of the bedrooms. There is a surfboard room for storage and a separate shower for coming in
from a surf.

There is parking for two cars in the front and one car inside the gates. All bedrooms have a small safe for valuables.

Casa Puesta del Sol is located in Playa Hermosa and was constructed in 2003. The peaceful and beautiful setting exemplifies a luxurious Costa Rican lifestyle.

The 3 bedroom 2 and a half bathroom main house is 2700 sq. ft. It has a fully equipped, modern American kitchen, laundry room with full size washer and dryer, remote controlled mini split air conditioning in all living areas.

There is a large one car/truck garage with powered door opener. The home uses Pochote hardwood for all doors and cabinets as well as in the ceilings of the 30 ft x 21 ft great room and 30 ft x 12 ft covered patio.  Two bedrooms have queen size beds and the third has two twins. Each bedroom has TV with Direct TV and international zone free DVD players.

Music for the home is provided by a portable Bose Acoustic Wave sound system with built in stereo radio and CD player.  Naturally; plates, silverware, glassware, towels and linen are included in the rental. Should security be of concern the home has a state of the art security system and all public access to the house is either gated or barred.

The centerpiece of this beautiful home has to be the private backyard. There you will find the unique sunken "rancho" swim-up bar. The rancho has a private bathroom and completely tiled outdoor shower. The sunken bar contains a wet bar with mini refrigerator and tiled counter top area for the blender to make such yummy  frozen concoctions as pina colodas.

There are four handmade full size bar stools for sitting under the shaded, ceiling fan cooled rancho roof. However, if wet is more your "cup of tea" there are three in the pool bar stools upon which enjoy your chosen beverage or you can sit in the jacuzzi just on the other side of the planter peninsula.

All of this pales in comparison to the incredible view of the bay of Playa Hermosa. This incredible view has a way, day or night, of captivating you. But it's the sunsets, after all this is "the Sunset House", that will last in your memories. Nothing compares to the uniqueness of each day's sunset. Like snowflakes, no two are alike and you will find yourself running home to capture its' majesty.

Through the French doors of the two queen bedrooms, the 30 ft wide great room or through the bay windows of the sunken master bath's tub, the sunset will take your breath away. Naturally, you can also enjoy the view from the covered patio, sunken bar or just floating in the infinity edged pool that magically appears to merge into the bay.

Casa Puesta del Sol is located in Playa Hermosa, Guanacaste, Costa Rica. Just a mere 20 minutes from Liberia's International Airport. It's 15 minutes from Playa del Coco with its' supermarket, restaurants, casino and nightlife. It's only minutes by car or foot to Hermosa's beach and dining.

Sunset House

Sunset House is located on a hill overlooking Tamarindo Bay. The house is a beautiful 4000 square foot villa, designed by an award winning American architect, and boasts Spanish tiled floors throughout, hand painted murals by local artists, and an open outdoorsy feeling.

Located within walking distance of gorgeous white sand beaches, and some of the best surf breaks in Costa Rica, the house is also the ideal spot for just relaxing and enjoying the view.

An open air living area has cushioned concrete sofas and handcrafted tropical hardwood furniture. A stereo is provided with a small selection of CD's, for your listening pleasure.

The newly renovated fully equipped kitchen includes restaurant style stainless steel stove/oven/ grill and refrigerator, it's  a terrific place to cook while you watch the ocean. Catering service can also be arranged.

There are 3 spacious air-conditioned bedrooms; with lovely views of the ocean and Tamarindo estuary:  the master bedroom with king sized bed, 2 other bedrooms with queen sized beds, and a smaller, also airconditioned bedroom with a queen sized bed, plus one bunk bed -suitable for children.

The 2 large bathrooms have hot water, and there is a rock walled outdoor shower in the courtyard as well as another outdoor shower on the deck near the pool. On the south end of the house,  there is an additional suite with it's own bedroom and bathroom, seating/ living area with cable TV, desk/ office area, and patio. The suite shares the same  panoramic ocean view as the rest of the house.
 
A recent addition to Sunset House is the free form Mosaic tiled swimming pool, with disappearing edge, designed so that the pool appears as if it is spilling into the ocean. Surrounding the pool is a teak-plank deck with hardwood lounge chairs, and a shady cushioned concrete seating area overlooks the pool and ocean. The pool area is equipped with  wet-bar and  mini-refrigerator.

Tamarindo is an excellent place for sports enthusiasts of all kinds. Surfing, sports-fishing, golf, tennis, horseback riding, hiking, biking, are just a few of the activities you can enjoy while on your vacation. Long boards are available for rent from Sunset House for a fee of $100 per week plus security deposit.

Tennis courts in Tamarindo are within walking distance and there are several golf courses within a 20 minute drive. Fishing and surfing trips can be arranged on a 30 foot boat captained by an experienced American fisherman. After all these activities, you can call one of the numerous massage therapists in town to come and give a relaxing massage in the comfort of the house.
 
Daily maid service, and laundry service are provided at no additional charge. Sunset House also has an on-site caretaker/guard who lives in a small house located behind the main house, and will be there at all times to ensure your security.
