Playa Hermosa, (Beautiful Beach) in front of the "Almendro Tree" is the point where you want to go to surf all day and relax at night. Jaco with its 150 bars and restaurants, casinos and night clubs is where the action is if you want to have some fun. Come back home and sleep under the most incredible quiet stars in Playa Hermosa!
Hermosa Beach is practically untouched, undeveloped and cherished by all Costa Ricans. It is probably one of the most beautiful beaches in Costa Rica, and certainly closest to San Jose - only 70 miles away, or 1 1/2 miles by car.
This is a world-class surfing beach which hosts international competitions. People come from all over the world to surf here - and are they fun to watch! At the Northern end of the beach there are several "Beach Boy" style bars and a lovely hotel, where you can relax with a beer, watch the surfers strut their stuff, and enjoy the sunset.
