Villa Helena is a beautiful, spacious and very private one bedroom home situated at about a thousand feet in elevation, half a mile inland from the south central Pacific coast of Costa Rica.
The hillside location is ideal for several reasons. It allows for wonderful sunrise to sunset views of the expansive ocean below as well as a clear, close, unobstructed treetop view of the myriad of birds, butterflies, sloths, coati and monkeys cavorting below.
While the night air right at the beach level is stagnant and can be oppressively humid, our mountainside retreat provides all day and all night refreshing breezes which make sleeping very comfortable.

The spacious bedroom offers a king sized bed, louvered windows, writing table and roomy closet and storage. The freestanding hardwood bar separates the kitchen from the living and dining areas which have views into the garden and pool area as well as out to the ocean. A wide, comfortable bamboo couch and an extra-cushiony sleeping mat could easily accommodate two additional guests.
The whole front of the house facing the ocean, distant Cano Island and the Osa Peninsula is a large balcony from which one can laze in one of the hammocks, enjoy breakfast with a view or use as a comfortable wildlife observation area. A full sized washer and dryer is available for guest use.
In addition to the spectacular views of the waters of the Pacific, Villa Helena features a lovely deep pool with waterfall and two private sunning decks. The grounds closely surrounding the house and pool are planted effusively with plants and flowers to delight the eye and which further to attract the neighborly hummingbirds, and butterflies.
Your private garden is filled with heliconias, orchids, palms, bougainvillea, passionflowers, gingers, jasmine, cycads, plumeria and a host of other flowering and tropical foliage plants join with the tropical fruits of cashew, sour orange, mango, pineapple, papaya, tangerine, guava, coconut, star fruit, orange and banana.
Villa Helena is in the midst of an area rich in sights and activities when one chooses to pry oneself from the privacy and tranquility of the home itself. The quiet town of Dominical offers a grocery, top quality Costa Rican and Central American arts and crafts, a small post office and Internet café service.
Area restaurants are plentiful and varied so one would never have to cook a meal if one so chose. Top notch Mexican, Italian, Thai and Indonesian eateries mingle with restaurants offering local cuisine.
The nearby market town of San Isidro offers guests the chance to shop for a variety of groceries and there is a wonderful weekly farmer’s market that should not be missed if you are staying a while.

Bedroom 1 has a king bed with its own living area and separate kitchen and offers spectacular 180-degree views of ocean and sunsets. Terracotta floors, vaulted almond wood ceiling throughout are decorated with cedar and teak furniture including couch, chairs, table/desk.

Villa Mañana is a brand new, large, four bedroom, four bathroom, single story luxury villa set at the top of a hill with an unbelievable ocean view (west) that overlooks 2 km of pristine sand beach.
It is all yours to discover. Most water sports are available on-site or within a 5 minute drive. The beach is located at the bottom of the hill (about 1/4 of a mile stroll downhill from the villa).
Beach walking and afternoon naps are encouraged. There's some great snorkeling right off the beach and the water is shallow enough for small children. About a mile down the beach is a small river that typically has large egrets, storks, ibis and herons strutting around hunting for fish.
And if you're adventuresome, there are active volcanoes, bubbling hot springs, canopy tours and jungle hikes (with monkeys!) that you can explore as day trips.

The dining furniture is setup on the outdoor patio and is perfect for eating outdoors or cut-throat games of hearts or monopoly. And oh... that chirping noise you hear in the evenings out on the patio - its our house geckos - those little salamander creatures that eat mosquitoes and scamper around on the ceiling.
It really doesn't matter which bedroom you occupy because you're going to want to get up at 5:00 am to watch the sunrise, the flights of wild parrots and the monkeys that live in the jungle behind the villa. The sunset at 5:30 pm is even better! Its almost a ritual at the resort to gather on the beach at sunset and watch the ocean swallow the sun, while sipping a pina colada.

The staff is there to provide for your every need and you will enjoy daily mouth-watering meals made by our talented Costa Rican cooks--from fresh seafood to Italian dishes. You will also taste fresh vegetables and fresh fruit like you have never tasted before.
All meals are served outside under the canopy, facing the view. Fresh seafood, vegetables, and fruit are house specialties as well as chicken, pork, and Italian dishes. Among the seafood served during the week's stay are fresh mahi-mahi, grouper, snapper, and tuna.
Breakfast is normally served around 8 a.m. Lunch, served around noon, is light--consisting of sandwiches, salads, nachos, chips and fruits. Dinner, as mentioned above, is a treat and is served between 6 and 7 p.m.
ff arrives around 7 a.m. and departs shortly after dinner. The maid cleans the entire house daily and provides fresh linens and towels. She will also launder personal items of clothing if you wish. The houseboy serves the meals and handles the bar during the day and early evening before dinner.
He will gladly mix and serve you refreshing drinks while you relax in the pool. The bar includes beer (Costa Rican beers are excellent), white and red wines, rum, vodka, tequilla, gin, and scotch. The houseboy can mix pina coladas and margaritas (or other frozen drinks) using the freshest ingredients. Soft drinks, fruit drinks, milk, and legendary Costa Rican coffee are also available.
